It is with sadness that we share the sudden death of Joanne Forsyth. A member of St. Saviour's Penticton, she served on the Examining Chaplains Committee and as a Licensed Lay Minister. Joanne lived in Peachland and as such, also worshipped at both St. Margaret’s Peachland and St. Stephen’s Summerland through the years. She taught in school district #67 for many years as both a much-loved classroom teacher and a music teacher in the elementary schools of Penticton - particularly Columbia Elementary School and work with the honor choir. She was very active with the Kiwanas Music festival and never stopped teaching music into her retirement. She directed the Kettle Valley Singers Ladies choir, Peachland Singers, and led the Peachland Strummers Ukulele Group to name a few. She loved to play the organ and piano.
She had a close relationship with her brother Grant and his wife, who live in Vancouver with other extended family there. She was a devoted and proud Auntie to her brother’s two grown children and their children, attending their piano and dance recitals and competitions whenever possible.
Please pray for Joanne's family and all those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
Service details will be shared when available.
Thank you to Joanne's dear friends Kathy and Pauline for their help in putting together this announcement.
