Overview

Christian worship is always a matter of coming before God in prayer. There are, of course, many traditions of prayer in Christian faith. One such tradition is that of the prayer litany that brings together the concerns of the community in a liturgically directed way, but which also leaves room for both silence and spontaneous communal prayer.

As intercessors (those who craft and shape the Prayers of the People), we help provide direction for the community’s prayers, our communal responses, and the creative space to employ the themes and images of the scripture texts appointed for that day.

Through teaching, conversation, resource sharing, and practice, this workshop provides an incredible opportunity to come together, to engage our curiosity, and share wisdom with one another as we seek to lead our communities in wholehearted worship.

Who is This For?

This workshop is for those who are curious about crafting and leading prayers, those who are new to the practice of leading intercessions, those who wish to refresh their energy and ideas, and those who have led this for a long time.

Licensed Lay Ministers, Deacons, and Locally Trained Priests are encouraged to register for this course as a part of their continuing education.
