Week of January 5th 2026 - Rebuild Donations Update

We’ve received a few questions about donations to the Camp OAC rebuild and wanted to offer some clarity. All funds donated toward the rebuilding of Camp OAC are held in a designated trust and are fully earmarked for rebuild purposes only. These funds will be used exclusively to support the restoration and reopening of the camp.

We are deeply grateful for the generosity and ongoing support shown by individuals, parishes, and community partners across the diocese. Every gift plays an important role in moving this work forward.

As we continue working toward our goal of reopening Camp OAC in 2026, we look forward to sharing a rebuild update in the next issue of the Kootenay Contact.

We have drone footage from the site available to view here: Camp OAC - Flyover can’t wait to begin sharing more updates as our progress continues!

Week of January 19th 2026 - Camp Operations Update - 2026

We’re thrilled to share that the next chapter of Camp OAC is taking shape, and we’re getting ready to welcome people back to camp.

In 2026, Camp OAC will return with an awesome day camp season, designed to capture the heart of camp while we continue rebuilding toward the future. This soft launch year will focus on fun, connection, and unforgettable camp experiences, with time at the waterfront, campfires, outdoor adventures, and the sense of belonging that has always defined OAC.

Looking ahead, we’re also excited to share that plans are underway to bring overnight camp back in 2027. This phased approach allows us to do things well, build momentum, and ensure Camp OAC’s return is both joyful and sustainable.

Details about camp programming, schedules, registration, and staff and volunteer opportunities will be shared at the beginning of February. For now, we wanted to share our excitement and invite you to be part of this next chapter.

Thank you so much for your energy, excitement, and ongoing support of Camp OAC. This journey has been longer than we hoped, but we are incredibly excited to take this next step and begin rebuilding the magic of camp — one s’more at a time.

With deep gratitude,

Ian Dixon
