Nurturing Faithful Communities is a process unfolding in the Diocese of Kootenay, meant to foster and form gospel-centred faith communities. Its goal is to equip congregations to live vibrantly today in the light of God’s promised tomorrow. Offered in response to the Diocesan Council’s vision to gain a better understanding of the health and vitality of faith communities within the Diocese, the Congregational Futures Working Group was appointed in September 2016 by Archbishop John Privett, to seek a way to better understand the health and vitality of the Diocese. Nurturing Faithful Communities is a process that seeks to be consistent with the mission, vision and governing values we share as a Diocese. Through this initiative our congregations are provided a propitious opportunity to experience revitalization as we deepen our communion in the Holy Spirit and make known the good news of God in the crucified and risen Christ.

This is not a stewardship program, nor is it designed to provide ‘foolproof’ methods of increasing parish membership. These are tools to help parishes decide what vision and vitality their parish life embraces, and ultimately how viable it is going forward.
